Blue Biotechnology Network in Macaronesia
In 2023 we have conducted a high-level sectorial study tendered by the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ASCIISI, Spain): “Guiding document for the development of Blue Biotechnology in Macaronesia” associated with the project “Network of Excellence in Blue Biotechnology – REBECA CCT (MAC/1.1.b/269)“. During the execution, we conducted an in deep evaluation of the opportunities of the blue biotechnology market in Macaronesia, a roadmap for its development until 2030 and a guide for businesses and entrepreneurs to initiate/continue their activity in the blue biotechnology scene. To obtain the information we performed a series of interviews and with different key stakeholders. The resulting report contained a set of recommendations to overcome the main barriers and impulse the blue biotechnology in the Macaronesia region. The main results were communicated during the dissemination event (watch recording here).
The event and main findings were summarised in a conclusion document presented to the involved partners in the REBECA CCT project.
