Born with the belief that continuous innovation in agriculture is the only way to sustainably feed nine billion people by 2050, the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA) has emerged as a global authority on sustainable food production, driving innovation through exhibitions and conferences across the world.
This year’s edition has taken place in Utrech (The Netherlands) on June 20th -21st where innovations in the agricultural sector and the most ground-breaking events on new technologies to improve productivity, remain competitive, protect the environment and mitigate climate change have been showcased.
The second edition of GFIA, the world’s largest dedicated showcase of sustainable agriculture innovations, has hosted a large exhibition and high-level conferences where the latest innovative solutions and technologies for smart production across four key areas: indoor farming and hydroponics, aquatech, livestock and animal health and sustainable crops. In addition, it has provided a free b2b matchmaking service, so that businesses have been able to set up bilateral meetings according to each participants availability, interests and goals to find international agri-food business and technology partners.
GFIA Europe 2018 has taken place during the first International Week for Smart Food Production, from 19-22 June at Jaarbeurs Expo Centre, where it has shared space with VIV Europe, the European trade show for the international Feed to Meat industry and with Future Food Manufacturing Expo, Europe’s first major international trade fair dedicated to essential sustainable technologies in food processing and production. This is an initiative of The Netherlands, that has aimed to bring together the global food and agriculture industries, and gather thought leaders, business innovators, key buyers and investors, policy and decision makers in food and farming from all over the world.
